The Townsend River Walk & Arboretum Picnic Area, Demonstration Rain Water Garden, Children's Wooden Play Train and More is scheduled to be completed in 2025 and is estimated to cost $ 7,000.   We are providing the volunteers but we need your generous donations for the materials.

GBU Life of Pittsburgh is matching the first $2000 in donations!

Notes, Testimonials and Greetings from Visitors to the Townsend River Walk & Arboretum (TRWA)

The TRWA has over the years had some really great visitor comments, posts on websites and social media, news articles and so much more.  We have never solicited these comments but are so grateful that visitors enjoy this special and unique adventure in Townsend.

In late June 2024, a visitor suggested adding a nature notebook on the River View Platform for visitors to record nature observations, sketches, and notes.   We have added that and have had some wonderful comments.

Below you will find many of those comments and more.  Hope you enjoy.  We sure have.

Michelle

20240624 - MichelleHi! My name is Michelle and I came here with my 3 sons aged 10, 13, and 15. We enjoyed a bagel and cream cheese breakfast on your lovely bench. My 13 years old has stopped at each sign to learn more about the local plant life. It is very useful & informative, especially with the numbers pointing out the trees/plants. Thank you for sharing your Riverwalk with us. God Bless.

Very nice, short and shaded nature walk on the Little River. Was the perfect length and difficulty for our family with our toddler.

Abbey & Family

20240702 - Abbey & FamilyThis peaceful walk gave us some much needed family time while we were in town visiting.
The birds, the river, the "off trail" cave, and all the marked plants are wonderful.
My in-laws liked this bench and might come back some mornings to enjoy.
Thank you,
Abbey, Michael, Sheri, Daniel

The Hollaway Family - Georgia

20240702 - The Hollaway FamilyWe came here from Georgia bc of a mix up with an airbb rental in Franklin NC. We had never been to Townsend, TN. We have fallen totally for it!! Thanks your for the sweet, peaceful walk among the trees. Our grandchildren enjoyed checkers as we watched inflatable rafts go down the river sitting on the bench. Thank you so much for all your hard work!
Love always,
The Hollaway Family
