The picturesque Townsend River Walk & Arboretum is nestled between the Maryville-Alcoa Greenway and the Little River.  A wonderful departure from the hustle and bustle of the Greenway,  this nature trail and arboretum provides views of the river as well as the tree, flowers and wildlife.   It is free and open to the public and is handicap accessible on the north end of the trail.

PARKING:  Park at the Tuckaleechee Camp Ground United Method Church.

GETTING THERE: From the parking lot head for the Townsend Historical Trail (it goes along the Lamar Alexander Parkway) and follow it to the left until you reach the underpass (Walking Trail Tunnel that goes under the Lamar Alexander Parkway) and go thru the underpass.  Upon reaching the other side the entrance to the Townsend River Walk will be on your right.
