Tennessee Urban Forestry Council Logo

The Tennessee Urban Forestry Council (TUFC) was created by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture's Division of Forestry in 1991. The TUFC is a non-profit organization that works to promote healthy and sustainable urban and community forests in Tennessee. One of our best programs is our statewide arboretum certification program. Currently there are nearly 100 certified arboreta in Tennessee and we have now expanded this program to include Businesses and Homes (Tree Sanctuary). The intent of our program is to expand the likelihood and ability of the public to see many varieties of trees; to discover their different names, appearances and uses; and to learn of the benefits that trees provide to our environment, our public, our communities, and our state.
